Karnataka Jesuit Youth Ministry held a training programme for the youth in Ignatian Leadership at St Joseph’s University campus, Bangalore on October 28-29. Over sixty students from eight different Jesuit institutions participated in this training programme. The whole two days programme was well planned with different topics such as Jesuit charism and our way of proceeding; personality and its types; time and habit management; NLP skills; leadership skills; IPP and Jesuit leadership. The resource persons were Frs, Maxim, Joyson, Denzil Lobo, Sch. Reuell Paul, Mr Prashanth and Ms Veena.
There were activities to internalise the skills and practice them in their respective institutions. Taizé prayer on the first evening helped the youth in deeper prayer. Br John Noel who is from Taizé gave an elaborate introduction about the dynamics.
This programme was planned and set up by keeping in mind the UAPs and KPAPs. The main objective of this training programme was to train young youth in Ignatian principles to spread Jesuit values wherever they are, so that there is a deeper reflection into life to make right choices in life. It is expected that these trained students will be animating youth along with the youth coordinators. The youth commission has taken up this challenge of training youth thrice a year in different batches and in different places and thus, leaders are formed as Jesuit youth leaders.
At the end of this two days training programme, all students were given the certificate and were awarded as Jesuit Leaders.
