Governor Gehlot inaugurates elevated St Joseph’s College Hassan building

Governor of Karnataka Thaawar Chand Gehlot inaugurated the enhanced structure of St Joseph’s College, Hassan on June 3. In his address, Mr Gehlot expressed admiration for St Joseph's College, hailing it as a model for inclusive education being imparted to deserving students. He commended the institution's commitment to nurturing bright minds and shaping them into eminent citizens to contribute to the progress and development of the nation.

"St Joseph's College has consistently maintained its legacy of providing excellent education while fostering inclusivity," Mr Gehlot stated. "The institution's dedication in imparting knowledge without discrimination sets a commendable example for others to follow. I applaud the college's efforts in building a future where every individual can access quality education and contribute towards nation-building," he added.

Showcasing the excellence of the College, a souvenir consisting of the past memories and annual reports of the institution from the year 2009 to 2022 was released by the Governor and other dignitaries on the dais.

Earlier, welcoming the guests Dr (Fr) Daniel Fernandes SJ, Principal of the College, said, "This institution stands for its core values of peace and reconciliation, social justice, inclusion and empowerment." He thanked the Governor for his generosity in accepting the invitation. 

Fr Dionysus Vaz, Provincial of Karnataka Jesuit province presided over the inaugural programme. In his address, Fr Vaz emphasised the importance of quality education to the marginalised community. He also took note of the efforts taken by Jesuits in providing quality higher education. 

Among the Dignitaries present were Swaroop Prakash, MLA of Hassan constituency and Prof. T. C. Tharanath, Vice Chancellor of Hassan University.
