The Human Resource Development Centre, Ashirvad conducted a three-day intense Jesuit Leadership programme (JESCOL - II) for 37 participants from Jesuits institutions from Bangalore zone. There was much life, enthusiasm and participation as resource persons Frs Joseph Xavier (of ISI), Maxim Dias, Joseph D'Mello and Dion Vaz (provincial) gave fruitful sessions on themes related to social analysis, economic analysis and ecology, religion and society, Ignatian worldview and decision-making process, personal growth and Jesuit leadership. The programme was intense and fruitful and was well appreciated.

“The sessions were an eye opener as I could evaluate my current role as a leader or mentor from an Ignatian perspective. The sessions were interactive and dynamic with presentations and group discussions after every specific topic covered by an expert in the field. Throughout the workshop, the group discussed non-negotiable dimensions of Jesuit education to “form men and women for and with others” in our schools/colleges,” said Jennifer Bernard from St Joseph’s CBSC School, Bangalore.

“As collaborators in a Jesuit institution, it is essential for each of us lay teachers to understand the vision of the Jesuits and their outlook for education. JESCOL-II, an advanced workshop for lay staff, answered this need of the teachers, preparing them for a leadership role in their institutions. The three-day workshop was an opportunity for teachers of all our institutions to interact, bond and learn from each other,” said Bindu Thomas from St Joseph’s Boys High School.
