Local Superiors, DOWs, and CCMs Convene for Two-Day Meeting at Prerana

Bengaluru, March 31 – A two-day meeting of Local Superiors, Directors of Work (DOWs), and the Commission for Choice of Ministries (CCMs), led by commission coordinators, was held at Prerana on March 29th and 30th. The gathering focused on the theme “Pilgrims of Hope”, fostering discussions and deliberations on key pastoral and administrative matters.
The event commenced with a prayer service led by Fr. Anthony Pais, followed by a welcome address from Fr. Dion Vaz, the Provincial. Fr. Fredrick D’Silva set the tone with a recollection talk on the theme, inviting the Jesuits to embrace Jesus as their hope. He also moderated a plenary session following a time of prayer and faith-sharing.
The afternoon and evening sessions saw commission coordinators and representatives presenting updates on their respective ministries and commissions. Their reports were evaluated to assess progress and future directions. The first day concluded with a Eucharistic celebration led by Fr Jerald M Dsouza and a homily by Fr Joseph Dsouza
The second day began with the Eucharist, celebrated by Fr Joyson Vaz and homily preached by Fr Vinod Saldanha. In the morning session Fr. Brian Pereira guided the assembly through the roadmap of RRSJSA. This was followed by Fr. Jason Furtado’s insights into the province’s financial matters, and Fr. Ronald Pais’ review of the Karnataka Apostolic Preferences, aligning them with the Universal Apostolic Preferences.
In the afternoon, Fr. Arun Luis presented a report on the Office of Province Development, while Fr. Arun Kumar, Socius to the Provincial, shared insights into the archival activities at Loyola Mandir.
The event concluded with Fr. Provincial’s address, highlighting significant province matters, followed by an evaluation session conducted by Fr. Eric Mathias. Acknowledgments go to Fr.
