Fr Joe Mannath SDB addresses young priests

The young priests’ meet was held on February 4-5 at Ashirvad, Bangalore. The resource person for the two-day programme was Fr Joe Mannath SDB.

The meet was aimed towards reinforcing the formative aspect of young priests, especially towards their holistic growth. The topics discussed were: Psycho-spiritual integration, spirituality today, meaning of celibacy and implications of Synodality. The resource person by dint of his experience, expertise and depth inspired and encouraged all the young priests to make Jesus the norm of their life.

The concluding hour of the meet was addressed by Provincial, Fr Dionysius Vaz. He touched upon the types of priests and how priests are called to be compassionate leaders. “Dream big and have a vision for the Province and the world through creativity and vigour,” he said.

Frs Suman Balu and Joel Fernandes were chosen as the coordinators for the next young priests meet. This meet was organised by Fr Avinash Lobo, along with the PCF of young priests Fr Prashanth Wesley D’Souza.  

Earlier, Fr Arun Luis SJ, the superior of Ashirvad, welcomed the gathering.
