Over 250 AICUFers from across the country, including 36 from Karnataka, attended the AICUF centenary inaugural programme held at the birthplace of AICUF, St Joseph’s College, Trichy, Tamil Nadu, from May 24 to 27. The programme featured a series of sessions that included sharing of experiences and discussions on socio-political-economic issues, along with deliberations on the relevance of AICUF today. Besides these, the AICUFers also had a deeper understanding of different cultures, enhanced leadership skills, and a commitment to social service and personal development.
Fr Dionysius Vaz SJ, provincial of Karnataka Jesuit province, was one of the resource persons. He spoke about the socio-psycho-spiritual challenges of youth, emphasising the importance of understanding the present scenario of the youth in the world. AICUF has become a platform to overcome fear, work for change, and foster unity among youth from diverse backgrounds, he said.
