Loyola pre-novitiate witnessed a grand celebration of Loyola Day on 1st December 2019. Fr Melwyn Lobo, the principal of Gonzaga CBSE School, presided over the Eucharist. In his homily he highlighted the importance of building strong families that are rooted in deep faith. Close members of the pre-novices’ families and the Jesuits of Mangalore were present for the programme. The pre-novices put up a splendid cultural programme consisting of Bharatanatyam, a Baila dance (folklore) and a beautiful Kannada drama “Parampare” based on communal violence in coastal Karnataka. Fr Dionysius Vaz SJ, Rector of St Aloysius, presided over the function. In his address he called upon the pre-novices to dream big and succeed in life. The guests were served a sumptuous meal after the programme.
